Blog Rules For The Best Results

Running a successful blog takes time, creativity, talent and dedication and some common sense!

It’s why the majority of blogs are abandoned shortly after their authors create them. But if you follow these top three blogging rules, your blog will continue to thrive for years.

1. Write on a topic you actually know quite well

You shouldn’t spend too much time crafting your blog posts. Ideally, you want to spend no more than 15 to 20 minutes on each post.

If you have to spend more time, you’ll grow bored with your blog and abandon it.

The key, then, is to write about topics that you already know well.

If you’re a real estate agent, you can tackle housing issues and related popular topics. If you’re a writer, you can post about freelance writing and how to make money from it.

2. Post regularly on your blog

The best blogs are updated daily. At the very least, you should update your blogs three times a week.

This keeps the regular readers coming. No one wants to visit a blog and find that the most recently written post is more than two months old.

Not having fresh content is a sure way to slash the amount of traffic coming to your site.

3. Encourage reader interactivity

You want your visitors to not only read your blog posts, but to respond to them. Always enable the “comments” feature of your blog.

This will allow visitors to respond to what you’ve written. And to encourage comments, make sure to often ask your readers for their own opinions on whatever issues you’ve covered.

Follow these top three blogging rules, and you’ll have a blog that will never lack for visitors.

And if you are trying to make money from your blog for yourself or your business then this will be a good thing!
